Team,

Our company deployment timing and destination have been solidified!  Thank you for your feedback via company survey.  This year, we will experience all that St. Louis has to offer during the weekend of March 28th!  Our VP of Sexual Relations has graciously offered to host us!  Similar to last year, we will try to arrive Thursday night to meet for a nice dinner.  Final details for Friday and Saturday are still being worked but tentatively include:  great St Louis food (BBQ, toasted ravioli,  pizza), a party bus bar tour and visiting the arch, zoo, and Anheuser Busch plant.  Carter and Caitlin have taken the lead in planning a great weekend (see below).  If you have ideas, friends or places you want to see in St Louis – please send along.

Carter and Caitlin have room for 10 people at their house – If more than 10 are able to join this year, we’ll need to book hotel rooms.  We will share the costs across the group – so thanks to CZ/Carter – lodging will be very inexpensive this year.  Please let me know if you THINK you will be able to attend Deployment 2014 by the end of next week.

Looking forward to another great year!

With warmest regards,

Jus

  1. Itinerary ideas:
    · Bar Tour – St Louis consists of a bunch of little neighborhoods, each with its own personality. Therefore, we will probably want to get a party bus for the bar tour so that we can travel around all of St. Louis and check out the best bars. There are a number of great microbreweries that we will definitely want to check out. Some potential stops:
o Blueberry Hill: famous blues bar http://www.blueberryhill.com/
    o Moonrise: rooftop bar http://moonrisehotel.com/rooftop-terrace-bar-at-the-moonrise-hotel/
o 360: best view of St. Louis on the top of the Hilton http://www.360-stl.com/
o iTap: International Tap House http://internationaltaphouse.com/soulard/
o The Flying Saucer: Over 100 beers on tap http://www.beerknurd.com/stores/stlouis/
o Schlafly: Best microbrewery in STL http://schlafly.com/#
    o Gamlin Whiskey House: http://gamlinwhiskeyhouse.com/
o Sub Zero Vodka Bar: Largest selection of vodka in the country. Ice Bar. http://subzerovodkabar.com/
    o Mollys: http://mollysinsoulard.com/
o McQuirks: Great spot to finish the night. Outdoor seating.
    · As far as food goes, St. Louis is known for its pizza (thin crust with Provel cheese), Toasted Ravioli, and BBQ. Everyone has their own opinion on the best BBQ in town but I would definitely suggest we check out Pappys. They cook everything that morning and stay open until they sell out of food.
Anheuser Busch – Two different tour options…there is a free one, which lasts about 90 minutes and you get a free beer at the end. We could also schedule a private “Beermaster” Tour, where we go behind the scenes and get to drink Budweiser from a finishing tank. It is $25/person but is a good time. http://www.budweisertours.com/z01/index.php/st-louis/programs/
    STLbarcycle – aka a pedal tavern. http://www.stlbarcycle.com/
The Arch – There is a museum in the bottom and you can ride to the top. Whole experience is about 90 minutes long. Costs about $7/person.
St. Louis Zoo – Admission is free thanks to our tax dollars :).
